MSN messenger won't open, date and time changed, weird noise at start up?

Hi. My laptop went weird. At first when I turned it on, when it's loading to the user account to put a password, it made the same sound but kind of "ugly". Then the MSN Messenger won't start, I tried shutting it off and the MSN repair. And also, the date and time went 3 years back. Is it a virus?|||I would suggest doing a "System Restore". Go to Start%26gt;Programs%26gt;Accessories%26gt;System Tools%26gt;System Restore and try restoring to a point in time where that problem didn't exist. This might fix it. Otherwise, set the date and time again and that should fix MSN.|||If there is a weird noise at start up.


You might be having a hardware failure.





If it's beeping, count the beeps then go to bleepingcomputer.com or something of the sort.


Google the beeps.





They tell you what part of hardware is failing.





System restore works well if there aren't beeps, just "uuuuuuuuhhhhgrrrrrrrrr"


You're computer's fan might be stuffed.





You can try and re-install MSN, google it.


Find it, download it.


(Uninstall the first msn first though, you'll keep all of your contacts)





Do a virus scan as well.


And a defrag. (Found in accessories or something in the start menu)





If you need anti-virus (Ask yahoo)





It does sound to me like a hardware failure.


Which will cost you money D:





You can't really get that fixed with yahoo answers, youwill have too take that to your Technician.
