Southern Indians tend to be a bit more conservative. I always find Northern Indians, mainly Punjabis, to be a bit more open- minded and progressive.|||punjabis are dildar dilwale people who live life 2 the fullest ,khao, peyo aysh karo ,happy go lucky sort of people, balle balle|||When I hear "Punjabis" I don't think of Indian people...|||I am not Punjabi but I am Indian. I know an Indian guy who married a white woman and the family were pretty accepting. But a friend of mines who married a black woman, the family were distraught. Racism still exists, and while people are a bit more open-minded, they still have a long way to go.|||yes|||well its right what u think about Punjabis|||I agree to some extent with you as there are always exceptions!
South Indians are basically very reserved and conservative. So there is less scope for children of such families to act as per their choice.
You may term such people as orthodox or simply a bit reluctant to change.
But you find such people among the north Indians too.
At the end of day, all of us are Indians first and then our respective regionality.
India is known for unity in diversity. Thus there is a striking similarity in all the various castes, rituals etc of our country.
You can always find a conservative north Indian family and completely outgoing south Indian family!
Honestly, i have come across both such cases.
Happy New Year!
